Pastors

Paul Hahn

Lead Pastor

Paul is a native of Lakeland, Florida. His grandfather was a Baptist pastor, and Paul grew up in the church, never knowing a day when he did not believe in Jesus. Paul attended Yale University where he played college baseball, graduating in 1984 with a degree in economics.

Through his involvement with Athletes in Action at Yale, a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ, God began calling Paul into vocational ministry and worked in his life in other significant ways – including meeting his future wife, Fran, then a student at Auburn University, at a Campus Crusade conference in 1983. Paul and Fran married in 1986, and moved to Jackson, Mississippi, where Paul attended Reformed Theological Seminary.

During his time at RTS, Paul was introduced to Reformed University Fellowship, the PCA’s national university ministry. Paul served as RUF Campus Minister at Auburn University from 1990 to 1994. Paul and Fran moved to Texas in 1994 to plant Redeemer Presbyterian Church of Austin, which the Lord used as the flagship church to begin RUF and RUF-International at the University of Texas and RUF at Baylor. In 2003, the Hahns answered a call to plant Redeemer Church of Knoxville, Tennessee, and spent 12 years there.

In 2016, Paul was called as Coordinator of Mission to North America, the PCA’s agency giving leadership and direction to church planting, church renewal and missional partnerships throughout the United States and Canada. After four years with MNA, Paul and Fran experienced a strong leading of the Lord back to ministry in the local church, and moved to Los Angeles, California, where Paul has served since November 2020 as Interim Pastor of Pacific Crossroads Church.

Fran and Paul have been married for thirty-six years and are blessed with four grown children and three beautiful granddaughters.

Matt Beham

Co-Lead Pastor

Matt was born in London, England, to American parents and lived his growing up years between England, Scotland, Louisiana and Houston.

Matt was converted to saving faith in Jesus as a freshman after a friend invited him to a church youth group. That experience planted the seeds for Matt’s future passion to see others come to Christ through the work of the local church.

Matt, whose young years overseas were spent playing soccer in every available street and park of Scotland and England, was recruited to play college soccer for Trinity University in San Antonio. He began attending Redeemer in 2005 and quickly made it his church home. He was part of the early chapter of Reformed University Fellowship at Trinity and began testing out a call to ministry by volunteering with the youth program at RPC.

During his college years, Matt reconnected with Haley, a childhood friend he had known in Houston who was then attending Texas A&M University. They started dating when they both returned to Houston for the summer. Matt and Haley were married in 2008, the same year he was hired as RPC Youth Intern. Matt was later named Director of Youth Ministry and began pursuing his Master’s of Divinity from Redeemer Seminary in Austin.

Matt was ordained in 2016 as Assistant Pastor of Youth Ministries, and in 2021 he was called as RPC Associate Pastor of Spiritual Formation, taking on leadership of Redeemer’s spiritual formation programs for youth, children and adults. He now serves as Co-lead Pastor of Redeemer, sharing preaching and pastoral responsibilities with RPC Lead Pastor Paul Hahn.

Matt and Haley have two children, Elliotte, 7; and Graham, 4.

Victor Martinez

ASSOCIATE PASTOR

Victor Martinez was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. The youngest of four children, he worshipped with his family at the local Presbyterian Church. His grandfather, Alvaro Morales-Zambrana, was part of the first generation of indigenous Presbyterian pastors in the island.

In 1986, while attending Mississippi State University, Victor sensed God’s calling to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps. After college, Victor enrolled in Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX. It was there that he met Jeannie, his future wife and partner in ministry. Together they served as missionaries with the Southern Baptist Convention until 2001. During that time Victor has planted churches and served as pastor in Dallas, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Puerto Rico, and has taught Seminary in Puerto Rico, as well as a Brazilian seminary extension program in Cambridge, MAIn 2001 Victor came to San Antonio to serve as Assistant Professor of Theological Studies at Baptist University of the Américas, where he taught until 2008.

Victor and Jeannie rejoice that God has brought them to the Presbyterian tradition of Victor’s childhood. Their call is that in all things Christ and His Church be served, as He establishes His Kingdom on earth. They love to spend time “en familia y confianza”…sharing a cafecito and a good conversation.
