Giving

"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work." 2 Corinthians 9:7-8

Giving and the Gospel
One of the expectations of Redeemer’s leadership is that each of her members GIVE financially to the Vision of Redeemer. As with everything else in the Christian’s life, giving is a gospel issue and therefore can only be rightly understood through the lens of the gospel which calls every person in Christ to SACRIFICALLY CONTRIBUTE to the church.

When one is being deepened in the reality of Christ’s sacrificial love, that he gave up everything on the cross so that we could gain everything in him (2 Cor. 8.9), his heart is not only being liberated from the excessive need to hold on to its possessions tightly, but its also being motivated to invest in God’s Great Renewal Project through giving sacrificially and generously.

While the New Testament makes no command of the tithe of 10% of one’s income, we do regard it a great beginning point in learning the responsibility of giving. And therefore, we require all elders and deacons to be committed to the principle of a minimum of 10% tithe to Redeemer.

Giving at Redeemer
Redeemer relies on the Operating Budget to provide ongoing ministry to the church community, the city and beyond. Please consider making a financial gift to the Operating Budget in order to help us continue our ministry to San Antonio as well as to our targeted ministry areas throughout Texas and the world.
