Brad Tubbesing Called as Assistant Pastor of Congregational Life

The Session of Redeemer is excited to announce that Brad Tubbesing has been called to serve as Assistant Pastor of Congregational Life at Redeemer. Brad is the current campus minister with Reformed University Fellowship at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. He will officially begin his role at RPC on July 2nd.

Brad and Caroline Tubbesing were both born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. They were high school sweethearts, dated through college, while Brad attended Miami University in Ohio and Caroline, The University of Missouri-Columbia, and married immediately following graduation.

After graduating from Covenant Seminary in 2006, Brad joined RUF, planting two new campus ministries, first at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and then at IU in Bloomington. RUF at IU was started in conjunction with PCA church plant Hope Presbyterian Church.

Brad says he and Caroline found during their recent visit that San Antonio as a city and Redeemer as a church community connected naturally with their own interests and values.

“The vibrancy and energy and diversity of San Antonio are really attractive to us,” Brad says. “We are excited that there are so many families at Redeemer and also a lot of young adults in the church and in the city that the church can reach. The philosophy of ministry and the values and mission of the church were things that I was really aligned with and appreciated.”

The Tubbesings have four children: Eliza, 11, Adie, 9, Jane, 6 and JR, 4. They love their dogs, hiking, bike riding and being outdoors as a family. The Tubbesing family roots for the St. Louis Cardinals in baseball and the Hoosiers in college basketball, but they have no serious NBA allegiance and look forward to joining the Spurs Nation.

Current RPC Associate Pastor Benjie Slaton and his family are moving to Chattanooga, Tennessee this summer to plant a church. We are so thankful for their years of ministry at Redeemer. Join us in prayer and anticipation of what God will do through them in Tennessee.

Please be in prayer for the Tubbesings as they embark on this transition and prepare to welcome them to San Antonio!
