Dear Redeemer Family & Friends,

I am writing this letter to inform you of my upcoming transition out of the role of Redeemer’s Director of Music Ministries.

For the past nine years it has been an honor and a joy to serve at Redeemer in this capacity. Working under the leadership of Pastor Tom Gibbs, and alongside the stellar staff at Redeemer has been an incredible experience, and I have personally learned more than I can put into words. Having watched Redeemer grow from a small church plant to a robust congregation (now with a permanent home!) has been thrilling, and humbling.

As many of you know, I have been increasingly involved in San Antonio’s live music scene over the past several years, performing at local venues with my various groups as many as 250 times per year. The success of such efforts, and recent opportunities have created an increasing demand on my time and energy. After prayerful consideration, it was clear that this summer would be an ideal time to for me to pass the torch. I will continue serving in my current position for the next two months, and will officially step down on August 24th.

Thankfully, the Watkins family is here to stay in San Antonio. We look forward to continuing to be involved in the life of Redeemer, and I plan to still play the piano for services on a regular basis. Redeemer is our church home, and I am excited to watch her grow as we continue to serve as regularly attending members.

I would also like to thank each of you for your friendship, prayers, and support over the past nine years. I cannot express deeply enough the gratitude I feel for the opportunity to work alongside so many wonderful saints at Redeemer. God has blessed Redeemer in so many ways!

In Christ,
Brent Watkins

I cannot express enough how impactful Brent's ministry has been. I'm so glad that he will still share his many talents with the Redeemer family. It will be fun to watch how God redirects his talents to bless even more people in our city exciting ways! And, I'm excited to see how The Lord will lead Redeemer in the coming months. More news forthcoming! Tom
