Children's Ministries

"Bringing the heart of the Gospel to the heart of the child."

The Kingdom of God values children. God has chosen to work through the institution of families as a primary means by which the treasure of the Gospel is passed on. As a result Children’s Ministries at Redeemer is one of our highest priorities. We want to help your children learn about Christ, his redeeming love, and our great need for him in our lives as Savior and Lord.

Vacation Bible School

Redeemer hosts a four-day Vacation Bible School program each June. We offer fun, engaging, hands-on Bible learning experiences for kids ages Kinder-5th grade. Dates for 2017 are June 20th-23rd. You can find all the information and register HERE.

Here is a short video from our 2016 VBS.

Children In Worship
Worship is God-centered praise and adoration. As you look around the worship auditorium at RPC, you see that children are a part of our worshipping community. Their presence here grows out of the biblical tradition and conviction that children are members of the community of God’s People. Inclusion in the Church’s worship service - worshipping with their families Sunday after Sunday - is one way that children learn what it means to walk as followers of Jesus.

Children’s Choir
We are offering a new children’s choir program for children in grade 2 through 5. We will meet on Sunday nights from 5:00 to 6:15pm (the same time as the evening adult CE classes) in the sanctuary. We hope you take advantage of this opportunity to participate in Redeemer’s worship in a new and meaningful way. For more information, please contact Joel Cook.

Training In The Pews
It is our hope that children will learn to LISTEN to God's word as they mature through the ages of 4-6. Children falling into this age bracket are dismissed immediately before the sermon to “Training in the Pews”. The children sing worship songs, are taught an age-appropriate lesson from the same Scripture as what the adults are listening to in the service, then sing a few more songs before they are dismissed back to their parents to join in the rest of the service.

Christian Education (CE)
Offered for children from ages 2-5th grade during CE hour (10:45am-Noon). Children in the nursery (ages 2-4) are read a Bible story by member volunteers to help them understand who God is and what he is like. Once in Pre-K (age 4 as of September 1st) your child has graduated from the nursery to the Pre-K CE classroom.
We believe this time of learning is crucial to helping your children grow in their knowledge of God and his word. Additionally, CE is one area where we hope to further equip our parents to raise up their children in the ways of the Lord.
** Parents are asked to pick up their children immediately following the service.
Then you are welcome to return to the lobby for fellowship.

Communicants Class
This class helps children of the congregation to understand the essentials of the Christian faith and what it means to become a communicant member of the church. This course is offered two times a year. Check the calendar for dates. Also, we posted a blog answering questions about when and how children at Redeemer can take communion. Read it here.
