The Session is pleased to recommend to the congregation that the Rev. Benjie Slaton, currently our Assistant Pastor of Congregational Life, become Redeemer's Associate Pastor of Congregational Life. In order to act on this recommendation, the Session has called a congregational meeting for Sunday, August 2nd, immediately following the 10:45 a.m. worship service, so that the congregation can vote to call Pastor Slaton as its associate pastor.

For those interested, the key difference between an assistant pastor and an associate pastor in the Presbyterian Church in America is that associate pastors are called by the congregation and assistants are called by the Session (BCO 22.2-3). Upon installation, associate pastors also become full members of the Session. In this, Benjie joins pastor Victor Martinez, who is already an associate pastor at Redeemer.
