Dear Redeemer Members and Friends,

Already in our 14th year of ministry, on February 7th, Redeemer celebrates 13 years of worshipping together as a congregation! As each year passes, we have opportunity to both give thanks for God’s rich provision in the previous year and express our hope in his manifold grace for the coming one.

If you’ve been around Redeemer for a while, you know that we are an active congregation. We are eager for the Gospel to impact our lives and use us in the city. With all of that activity though, we sometimes fail to adequately celebrate God’s wonderful work in our midst. So, in this year’s annual report we not only want to inform we want to “stop and smell the roses,” giving thanks for all that God is doing in our congregation!

Speaking of blessings, Redeemer has now been downtown for more than a year. During that time, however, we have far from settled into our new home. In the last two years, Redeemer has experienced its most rapid growth in both number and its scope of ministry. In all kinds of ways, we are racing to catch up to God and realize the blessing of the ministry opportunities opening up to us.

As we look forward to 2016, your participation, contributions and prayers have never been more important. All of this growth requires more investment. As with the previous year, adding staff, volunteer recruitment, developing ministry systems and expanding programs will be priorities. One specific initiative worth highlighting is the expansion of Reformed University Fellowship in our city. In partnership with South Texas Presbytery, Redeemer hopes to launch a new RUF chapter at the University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA). In the coming year it is also hoped that Redeemer will make progress on renovating unfinished portions of the downtown facility.

If you’re new to Redeemer, let me be the first to say, “Welcome!” I cannot think of a better time to jump into to what God is doing in our midst. What was said at the church’s formation is still true today, Redeemer is on a Gospel-saturated, faith expedition to explore the depths of God’s his grace and to bring the riches of his glory to the city of San Antonio!

Happy Anniversary Redeemer!
