March 12, 2025 5:23 PM

Redeemer is pleased to announce that Alyssa Ayala will join the RPC Staff as Communications Coordinator in March. RPC Communications Coordinator Haley Wachdorf will work with Alyssa for a transition period before stepping down after ten years of dedicated service on the church staff.

Alyssa is a native of Ganado, Texas. She came to San Antonio to attend the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) in 2019, where she served as a student leader in the campus ministry Cru. Alyssa graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Digital Communications and has worked as a Graphic Designer at Garcia Art Glass, handling custom art installations, digital design, web site design and customer relationships. Alyssa is married to Martín Ayala, a Process Engineer at Ventana Applied Sciences. The Ayalas have attended Redeemer since 2023, and Alyssa says she is excited for the opportunity to join the staff.

“I love how welcoming and friendly Redeemer is,” Alyssa says. “Everyone is very intentional and kind. We also love that the sermons, Bible studies and messages are focused on grace and truth, which is something we value and admire. I am very excited for this opportunity to grow in my career and serve at Redeemer.”

RPC Executive Director Jeremy Whitley welcomed Alyssa, who will be responsible for developing digital and print communications for Redeemer, collaborating with various ministry leaders, and ensuring Redeemer’s communications and public voice embody professionalism and warmth.

“Alyssa loves Redeemer, and her enthusiasm for the role and her communications training will greatly benefit our congregation,” Jeremy says.

Haley Wachdorf has been a member of the RPC staff since 2015. Her professional background is in journalism and communications, but she originally joined the staff as the Nursery Coordinator before moving into the role of Communications Coordinator in 2017. Haley has equipped staff and ministry leaders in their communications efforts, led and expanded Redeemer’s internal and external communications process, and developed communications tools including Redeemer’s annual Ministry Report, the Redeemer SA mobile app, and, most recently, a redesigned Redeemer web site. Haley served on the RPC Pulpit Committee in Redeemer’s pastoral search in 2021 and 2022, and has played an active role in the planning and execution of the Redeemer Culture Conference, working alongside RPC Associate Pastor Victor Martinez and the City Missions Team.

Dan and Haley Wachdorf and their children, Kate and Isaac, have been members at Redeemer since 2010 and will continue to be active participants in life and ministry at RPC.

RPC Executive Director of Operations Jeremy Whitley thanked Haley for her contributions to Redeemer.

“Haley has made an undeniable and lasting impact on Redeemer's ministry. Her love for our church, her commitment to excellence, and her professional expertise have set the standard for Redeemer’s public voice,” he says. “She loves our church deeply, and it’s hard to overstate the tremendous blessing Haley is to our congregation. I am truly grateful for her service to Redeemer.”

Alyssa’s first day on the staff will be March 17th. Please join us in welcoming and encouraging Alyssa in her new role and thanking Haley for her service at Redeemer!
