Serving the City

Come help us reach our city in Word and deed. Here are great opportunities to grow in the grace of the Gospel, build relationships, and make a difference in God's Kingdom.

City Missions Opportunities

Strong Foundation is located on the East side of San Antonio near the Carver Center, Strong Foundation seeks to equip families coming out of homelessness to make a fresh start. This safe, family-friendly transitional home provides housing, mentorship, accountability and discipleship. They need help with cooking, leading arts & crafts classes, teaching stewardship/financial planning courses, mentoring, landscaping/beautification. Contact: Suzette DeMent, suzette@redeemersa.org

Kidz Time
provides an opportunity for parents at Strong Foundation to attend classes and workshops that will prepare them for independence. Volunteer for a day or be on a rotating schedule. This is great for families and community groups. You can bring your kids to interact and play games with the children, teach a Bible lesson or simply “be there” for the kids. Kidz Time takes place on the first Friday of every month. There are also opportunities on Saturday mornings or your community group can pick a more convenient day and time. Contact: Suzette DeMent, suzette@redeemersa.org

Young Life San Antonio South
is made up of volunteer adults who are concerned enough about kids to meet them where they are, in their culture building bridges of authentic friendship. Through weekly gatherings and spending time with kids at football games and in the cafeteria, these friendships break down walls and provide a platform for deep and effective evangelism and discipleship to what is otherwise a largely unreached age group in our culture. Lavish
is a faith-based outreach and aftercare ministry for women in the sex industry. Join Redeemer in learning how to love, equip and empower women in the darkest of places: strip clubs and brothels. You could have the opportunity to help host a dinner and support group, and connect the women with mentors, a faith community and resources. The goal is to empower the women we reach by helping them reclaim their life and pursue their God-given destiny. Contact: Rachel Chaney, rachel@rachelchaney.com.

Ransomed Life is a healing community for exploited girls. Redeemer partners with Ransomed Life in a variety of ways. Contact: Rachel Chaney, rachel@rachelchaney.com.
