This week, the Session had the privilege of sitting down with those who have most recently completed officer training at Redeemer and is pleased to announce their candidacy for office in the class of 2027. Elections will be held on Sunday, June 2nd, at a congregational meeting immediately following the 11 a.m. worship service.

During worship services on Sunday, June 9th, Redeemer will install these officers, and will also install Rev. Dr. Bryant McGee as Associate Pastor of Congregational Care and Rev. Pablo Chavarria as Assistant Pastor of Spanish-Speaking Ministries. Rev. Chavarria passed his ordination exam with South Texas Presbytery in April, transferring from the National Presbyterian Church of Mexico to become a teaching elder in The Presbyterian Church in America, and has been called by the Redeemer Session as an assistant pastor. Redeemer gives thanks for the ministries of Bryant and Pablo and celebrates God’s gracious provision in bringing them to RPC. Read more about Bryant here and more about Pablo here.

Officer Candidates

Vicente Jamie is a new candidate for the Session. Returning elders are Zack Burkhart, Winston Meeker, Jeremy Whitley, and Alan Williams.

Jim Dante and Dr. Lane Naugher are new candidates for the diaconate. Returning deacons are Craig Goedecke, Chip Nance, and James Sedgwick.

As required, the Session has instructed, examined and approved these men in the qualifications, duties and their willingness to assume responsibility for ordained office in the Presbyterian Church in America. They are now being recommended by the Session to the congregation to be elected at the upcoming congregational meeting on June 2nd.

The Session encourages the congregation to get to know these candidates and be prayerful for them and their families over the next month. It is important that we ask the Lord to guide us as we prepare to elect Redeemer’s newest leaders.
