RPC Session Announces Pulpit Committee Slate

February 04 2021

From the Redeemer Session

Greetings, Redeemer members and friends,

The Session of Redeemer met last night (February 3) to review the nominations we received for the 2021 RPC Pulpit Committee. First, we want to extend our thanks to the congregation for your thoughtful, prayerful engagement in this process. We had many qualified nominees to choose from, and it was a joy to witness the willingness of Redeemer members to participate, both as nominators and nominees.

The Session believes this committee should represent a thoughtful cross-section of Redeemer, with elders, deacons, staff, lay leaders and members of the congregation, all of whom will provide important leadership as we seek our next senior pastor. After discussion and prayer, we bring to the congregation the following slate of committee members to be voted on this Sunday, February 7th, at our congregational meeting immediately following the 11 a.m. worship service (BCO 20-2).

Senior Pastor Pulpit Committee Members

  • Ann Bingham, Co-chair
  • Henry Sauer, RE, Co-chair
  • Eric Arguello, Deacon
  • Paul Barton, At-large
  • Bob George, RE
  • Halli Hollimon, At-large
  • Erin Hurt, At-large
  • Haley Wachdorf, RPC Staff

You can read bios of each of the proposed committee members HERE.

At Sunday’s meeting, this full slate will be presented to the congregation for a vote. Similar to our officer election process, ballots may be cast in person in one of two ways: In the sanctuary during the congregational meeting, or, if you are not comfortable attending the meeting due to the pandemic, you may fill out a ballot in the church entry foyer between 9 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. on Sunday February 7, and drop it in the appropriate box.

As we prepare for Sunday’s meeting, please continue in prayer. Pray for each of these committee members and join us in thanksgiving for their willingness to lead and serve in this way. Pray for wisdom and peace for Redeemer as we continue this transition. Lastly, pray for the person who will become our next Senior Pastor. While we do not yet know who this person is, we rest in the certainty that God knows, has known, and is even now preparing the next leader of Redeemer for this role.

If you have questions about the slate or the election process, we encourage you to reach out to any member of the Redeemer Session. We look forward to being together Sunday for this next step in the process.

Warmly in Christ,

The Session of Redeemer Presbyterian Church
