Redeemer is pleased to announce that Anna Catherine Gibbs will join the RPC staff as Girls’ Discipleship Coordinator for the Youth Ministry in August.

Anna Catherine has a long history at Redeemer, and is a familiar and beloved face to many in the congregation. Her parents, Tom and Tara Gibbs, planted Redeemer starting with a Bible study in their living room, and she grew up in and alongside the church. As Girls' Discipleship Coordinator, Anna Catherine will build community with girls in the Youthies program, helping them grow in their relationships with Christ and with one another. AC Gibbs photo

Anna Catherine attended Alamo Heights High School. She graduated from Baylor University in 2020 with a degree in Anthropology. Since graduating, she has completed a master’s degree in Anthropology at Florida State University and has spent her summers doing fieldwork in Florida and Italy. She was active in Reformed University Fellowship at Baylor as well as the Mosaic Waco church plant, and attended Center Point Presbyterian Church in Florida. She is delighted to be headed home to San Antonio.

“I spent my entire childhood growing up in Redeemer’s children’s and youth ministries, which I love,” she says. “I am so excited to be home in San Antonio and at Redeemer, and I am looking forward to contributing to and watching Redeemer’s growth. Redeemer’s love for the city and the gospel remains unchanged, and the way that translates to its youth group has always been so intentional and deliberate.”

RPC Director of Youth Ministry Oscar Palin says Anna Catherine’s long history with Redeemer and in San Antonio will be a gift to the youth ministry.

“I am excited to bring Anna Catherine on to work in the Youth Ministry,” he says. “She brings a warmth and joyous presence to our staff that will draw students in. I look forward to seeing our female students get to know and be discipled by Anna Catherine and the fruit that will come from those relationships.”

Anna Catherine’s first day on staff will be August 15th. Join us in welcoming her back to Redeemer and encouraging her in her new role!
